Oracle linux 5 installation )If you are now having to start with bare metal, you could install Ubuntu (which is considered a desktop Linux and for which there is a version of VBox, but for which Oracle is NOT certified), then install the VBox version for Linux, then create a virtual machine and on that install Oracle Linux. Virtual Box is not installed on 'bare metal'. My intention is to install a Linux based OS and then install oracle 11g / 12c on it.

New virtualbox versions are typically not the most reliable and version 5 was only released recently. So if that means you have installed the Oracle Linux 6.7 successfully, but then the VM fails to restart showing you this error, that's not what you described in your post.Based on my experience with VirtualBox, I would stick with 4.3 for the time being, if possible. The ticket is about starting the virtual machine after the installation, which has nothing to do with the OS installation image or media.
